Food Growing
The community kitchen is located in our Outdoor Classroom and food garden at Rhyl Community Primary School. This is a teaching space that we first starting building back in 2010, when we constructed the beginnings of an allotment in the school car park. We built a series of raised beds with the help of a group of youth offenders. Later, we added a polytunnel structure and wood fired oven before we begun the 5-year journey to raise funds to build the community kitchen. Our pupils grow a wide range of edible plants, including some unusual and exotic ingredients such as thai lime leaves and bananas.
